CoD veterans frustrated after classic mode gets “ignored” in Black Ops 6 Season 2 Reloaded

Old Call of Duty players have been left disappointed after the Season 2 Reloaded update released for Black Ops 6 but didn’t add an iconic mode to the core playlists.

The mid-season update was launched for both BO6 and Warzone on February 21, introducing the highly-anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover, weapon buffs and nerfs, and some new maps.

Despite being still playable, the absence of the Hardcore mode among the eight core playlists—a low-health variant that was a main staple for many years—has caused frustration with players.

Hardcore players feel they’ve been “ignored again”

“Hardcore being ignored again,” a player began in a post to the BlackOps6 Reddit, “My friends and I exclusively play Hardcore, we just prefer it, but it’s getting really annoying not getting seemingly any of the new game modes or playlists.”

“All of these modes/playlists are exclusive to core. Its ridiculous actually how much content you lose playing only hardcore,” they said, before ending with, “The season reloaded update just came out and it’s seemingly pot luck if we’re able to play the new maps, it needs to be better.”

“They should definitely do something about it. Additionally, they should include the option to make HC load by default similar to how it was in the old cod,” one said.

“Im glad somebody finally put this put there. Ive really been enjoying the new TMNT mode but we were just saying how fun it would be in HC,” came another.

A third added, “Bro I swear I f**king hate it. They don’t do nothing for us Hardcore fans and that’s all I play.”

However, one long-time player responded, “I’m a Hardcore only player. Have been since OG MW2. Only about 10% of the total multiplayer players are typically playing HC. Those fringe modes like Headquarters, Gunfight, etc would have such a small playerbase that connections would be bad, queue times very long. Etc.

“Does it suck? I guess. But what can you do? Those modes just aren’t popular enough to warrant a Hardcore playlist.”

Another simply stated, “Idk how anyone can play Hardcore on these maps. I tried and I just can’t bring myself to do it.”

One new addition that was praised with the Season 2 Reloaded update was the addition of the Bullet map in Black Ops 6. Despite initial concerns from the community, many players have embraced it calling it the “coolest” map in CoD history.

Meanwhile, the developers also slipped in a fun Easter egg on the new Grind map—a Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater logo hidden inside the skateboard shop.
