Easy day for EG in Group B

The first day of the IEM5 American Championship Finals has finished, seeing Evil Geniuses and DINC advance to the playoffs as the two last teams.

Defending American Champions from Evil Geniuses did not face much resistance in Group B, where DINC were the team to take the most rounds, scoring nine rounds. With three victories, Evil Geniuses topped Group B, while second place would be settled between DINC and Excello.

Starting on Terrorists on de_dust2, Excello got off to a great start and DINC did not find much luck in their CT setup. This all lead to a 12-3 lead for Excello at half-time and the second spot in the group seemed able to go to either team.

In second half DINC stepped it up and especially Paul "pauLy" Guerboyan played a solid half. Neither team did however score sixteen rounds, as the two shared points as of the 15-15 result. Due to a better round difference, DINC will follow Evil Geniuses to the playoffs.

The playoffs will kick off with the semi-finals, which is played Saturday, while the Grand Final and third place decider match will take place on Sunday. The semi-finals are as follows:

Note that the match between complexity and DINC will be broadcasted by ESL TV and will not feature HLTV, same goes for the Grand Final on Sunday.
