Just like in previous Call of Duty games, Black Ops 6 gives players dozens of controller settings to tweak and adjust. While this allows for a tailored experience to match your exact preferences, it can also be overwhelming to figure out.

While using the best weapons is as important as ever, Omnimovement means you’ll also need solid controller settings to compete.

Whether it’s sensitivity, deadzones, or aim assist, this game gives you the tools to elevate your gameplay but it’s help if you don’t know how to use them. So, we’ve got a full rundown of the best options below that you’ll want to be using in Season 2 Reloaded.

  • Horizontal Stick Sensitivity: 1.20 – 1.80
  • Vertical Stick Sensitivity:1.20 – 1.80

Kicking it off is the Default Button Layout Preset – Call of Duty’s traditional button layout and the way you’ve likely been playing it for years. That said, you could switch to the Tactical layout, swapping the inputs for crouching and melee. This means you can slide or even go prone without moving your thumb away from the aiming analog stick, an all-important change.

As for Swapping L1/LB with L2/LB and R1/RB with R2/RT, we recommend once again sticking to the default layout, as that is likely what you’re used to. However, there are many benefits to swapping them, including a shorter response time when clicking the buttons, meaning you get your grenade out of your hand that little bit quicker.

Disable both the Trigger Effect and Controller Vibration. While it’s a nifty gimmick for the campaign, having resistance in your triggers for multiplayer or even Zombies is a hindrance. As for vibration, it can be a little distracting with all that’s going on in any given match, so turning it off can keep you focused on the game and extend your controller’s battery life.

When it comes to sensitivity, there’s a degree of personal preference. It’s not like the same settings will work for everyone, with some players preferring higher and others lower sensitivity. However, we recommended using somewhere between 1.20 and 1.80, as this provides a nice balance between control and being able to look around quickly.

Deadzone Inputs

  • Left Stick Min:1
  • Left Stick Max: 99
  • Right Stick Min:1
  • Right Stick Max:99
  • Left Trigger:0
  • Right Trigger:0

Deadzones change how much movement on an analog stick is required before the game reacts. A higher deadzone setting means you’ll have to move your analog stick more to see your character move in-game. Vice versa, the lower a deadzone, the quicker the response time.

You’ll want to lower these settings as much as possible until you’re comfortable. Ideally, this means using 0 Min and 100 Max on sticks, as well as 0 on both triggers. However, that isn’t worth doing if it means you are affected by stick drift, so it’s best to slowly raise these and see how low you can get away with.

There’s no major difference between Dynamic and Standard for Aim Response Curve, but I prefer Dynamic for its finer aim control. Standard will feel the most familiar if you’re a long-time Call of Duty player, but give Dynamic a try to take advantage of the micro-adjustments it allows for. After all, there’s a reason a majority of pro players use it.

Lowering the sensitivity when aiming down sight with low-zoom optics can make it much easier to hit your shots. However, you’ll want to have a slightly higher sensitivity for high-zoom optics like sniper scopes, as you’ll need to track moving around quickly with omnimovement.
